Logs of Hms Worcester and Hms Flamborough 1719
The Royal Navy warships engaged in the action against the Jacobites and Eilean Donan Castle were HMS Worcester, Flamborough and Enterprise. Follow the link below to access extracts from the logs of the Worcester and Flamborough. These provide a factual account of the destruction of Eilean Donan Castle from the standpoint of the officers of the two ships. These records still exist and can be inspected at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich. The texts have been altered only slightly for ease of reading, the originals having, for example, little or no punctuation, but the substance of the narrative has been carefully preserved.
