What is the difference between Macrae and MacRae? Because I'm a Macrae and quite a lot I have to correct people who get it wrong. My mother believes that MacRaes are lowlanders, or is there a bigger difference than that?

No Difference Between MacRae & Macrae.Eariest spellings between brothers & cousin varried. The facsimile of a bond of friendship with the Campbells of craignish gives McRah*2 MacRa*3Mackra*1. In victorian Times The Presumably Intectual side of the family dropped the capital R as the name was not a Patromic like MacDonald {son of Donald ] but Ment Son of Grace or Good Fortune.
