Quite interesting piece here on page 11, about Iain MacRae who fired the first shot in the Battle of Killiecrankie. I haven't visited the battlefield in years, but remember there was a marker where he fired from. It's interesting that he came from(or at least lived in Atholl) a long way from Kintail. It would be interesting to know what happened to him, did he survive the battle? How did he come to be living so far from the clan territories? Possibly these questions will never be answered.
