Hello,

I have submitted our DNA to the family tree DNA project as well as at Ancestry.com. Much to our suprise,as we are direct descendants of Daniel McKenzie born 1823 near Grantown, Strathspey, we discovered we are Macrae's. Our connection goes to the descendants close to the Macrae's that came to North Carolina as well as Alexander Macrae of Inverinate.
So, where did our line branch off and become Mckenzie's????? Perhaps a son who went with the grandparents or family of a Macrae who married a Mckenzie or someone born with no marriage involved at all. At any rate...
If anyone out there has a connection to a Macrae and a McKenzie birth that has a Daniel Mckenzie born in 1823 I would love to hear from you. Thank you, Ricki Buckles
