Flora, my e-mail is tina_gr@btinternet.com My Catherine, daughter of Donald Macrae, a Carpenter and Mary MacDonald. Catherine married 10 May 1849 Leault, near Inverinate, to Donald Macrae, Gamekeeper on the Killilan estate for 36 years in Lochalsh parish, neighbouring Kintail. They never left the area they were born to. They had 9 children though 2 died at or soon after birth. They are recorded in Donald's hand in pages from the family Bible. Catherine 1860, un-named son 1853, John 1854, Mary-Ann 1855, nu-named girl 1857, Christina 1859, Bella 1861, Flora 1864 and Donald 1868, my grandfather. If you can download GEDCOM files I could e-mail you the decendants I know of. If not we can find a way. I have pictures of most of the children listed and Catherine, who died in Inverinate 12 Jan 1908. I live in their home area now having returned, as my parents did, after living in England and Wales for some time.
The marriage date I have for Donald Macrae and Mary MacDonald is 20 Oct 1818, Glenshiel. My uncle noted on a transcript of 1841 census that Kenneth moved to Easter Ross, Farquhar to Australia and Alex died Avernish in Lochalsh. Where abouts are you? If you e-mail me I can mail you back but I don't have your address yet. Looking forward to hearing from you, Tina.
