Hello to everyone,
I have recently found out my grandparents were married at Dunblane in 1899 as Mr and Mrs John Reoch.
A few months after their marriage, they adopted the surname Rae.
Their is no explanitory reason why they did this.

Does being known as Rae for 109 years, entitle my family into being accepted as a genuine Sept family of Clan MacRae.

I look forward to clan members comments on this subject.

Regards,

John Rae.
