Greetings Clan MacRae,
I have undertaken the task of researching, compiling and computerizing my family genealogy. A hardy undertaking if youd ask me. However I seem to have hit a wall in my search with my 6th great grandfather on my fathers side. We believe him to be of Scottish decent or Scots-Irish due to a well recorded history of marriages into Scottish and Scots-Irish families along with being from Maine where we have a very large population of people with Scottish ancestry. So I am left with John Rae my 6th great grandfather whose only record I have is his marriage in 1753 in Maine. I have no record of birth, immigration or death. Just that he was married and had several children including my 5th great grandfather. I am looking for anything having to do with a John Rae, Ray, MacRae, McRae who has removed to America particularly Massachusetts or Maine. We estimate his birth to be around 1728 give or take 5 years. Anything could help me in my search. Thank you for your time and consideration.
With kindness and respect,
-Daniel Rae
