Hello. My name is Steven Rea and I live in Denver, Colorado, U.S. I'm looking to see if anyone can help me with this.

I have a complete family tree tracing my ancestry back to the early 1700's, where it dead ends with Alexander Rea, born about 1700 in Northern Ireland. My family (at least my direct line of the family) stayed in and around Scranton, PA until the 1940's when my grandfather came to Colorado. Alexander did have a son, Samuel Rea, born in 1734 in New Jersey, so he had immigrated here at least a few years before that.

If anyone has any clue on the line before Alexander, the approx. date the name change (or changes) happened, or when the Rea's left Scotland for Northern Ireland, that would be great.

Thanks a bunch!
Steven Rea
