Hello Clan Members,

Does anyone know if there is a burial ground or cemetery near Invergarry with burials from 1850's. I have looked in Kilmonivaig/ Gairlochy and not found the family I'm looking for.

Cheers,

Ann

Hi Ann, the local cemetery for that area is at Kilchuiman which is on the right hand side as you enter Fort Augustus. There are graves in there from 1722 to the present day and there are MacRae in there. The good news is you don't even have to get cold or wet. Go to scottish-monumental-inscriptions.co.uk and you will find the CD available for that cemetery under the heading of ''highlands'' for £6.25 1nc postage in UK. I checked the index for you and MacRae are present. Where did your MacRae line originate? Best wishes Martin

Hello Martin,

Wonderful to hear from you again, and thank you for the help. I'll get onto that straight away. My Flora is daughter of Duncan, the brother of Alexander AKA "Alister Donn" from Auchtertyre.

Fingers crossed

Cheers,

Ann
