This is for Duncan MacRae from southern Nevada.
Hello Duncan,

Thank you for your query. You are not bothering me at all, only too happy to be able to help. I am a Macrae by marriage, my husband's name is Andrew Macrae, his mother being Margaret Macrae, her father being Norman Farquhar Macrae and her mother Aileen Rowan. Norman's parents are John Kenneth Macrae and Elizabeth Fraser Dunbar. John Kenneth's parents were Rev John Macrae and Jamesina Fraser Macleod. This branch of the Macrae family is in Australia. There is only my husband (his 2 children and grandchildren), and his 2 cousins, only his cousin Mary has children. I do not think that we are related. Good luck with your research. Kindest regards, Rhonda Macrae

Hi Rhonda,
I read your reply to Duncan in Nevada and the reference to McRae's in Australia caught my eye. My gg grandfather Donald MacRae emigrated to Australia around 1852 (with his brother Alexander and Alexander's wife) and married a Margaret Fraser in Australia in 1853. Margaret was born in Ullapool, Scotland (I believe) about 1833 but I can find no other information about her. Can you help me in any way? I hope I'm not being a pest but I would love to hear from you.

Regards Sandra

This is for Rhonda Macrae.
Hallo Rhonda. I note from your reply to Duncan from Southern Nevada that your husband's grandfather was Norman Farquhar Macrae. Could you please tell me how and when he died? If it is as I suspect, I have some news for you and your husband.
Frank

Hello Duncan, Have just received your query via this forum re my husband's grandfather, Norman Farquhar Macrae, where you asked how he died. He was KIA on the Somme during WW1. Is this what you suspected?
Regards, Rhonda Macrae
