Traccing my McRae heritage.
MY Paternal Grandmother was Annie McRae born in Broadford Vic 1863. She married John Thomas in Wagga Wagga in 1864. Her parents arrived in Portland,Vic, Australia.
Her parents were John born 1819 and Mary Anne McRae born 1830 both from Rosshire Scotland.
I am travelling to Scotland in June of this year and would love to have as much information as possible before I arrive.
kind regards
Sue Stancombe

Hello Sue
How did your Scottish trip go?
I am going in June 2015 and was hoping to find out a bit more before I go.
I had contact with Rae Littlejohn (Queensland) who has since passed away. He provided me with many photos and a bit of history.

Rae told me that his great aunt was Donaldina Mackenzie and was housekeeper to Sir James Guthrie the President of the Scottish Royal Academy. Rae had contact with Willie and Christine Ferguson. Apparently Christine had unearthed more McRae history. I am currently trying to track them down. If you are able to provide me with any more recent information I would be grateful.
