I am Duncan Alexander Wayne Ray, Oldest son of Gregory Wayne Ray, Grandson of Roy Edgar Ray, Great Grandson of Duncan Ray who married Ruby Buchannan. I have met many of the Rays that live in Florida, and would like to know the rest of my family. I've always held the family close to my heart, defined myself by it actually. In 2003 my family and I went to Scotland for the first time, we walked the bridge over the Loch to Eilean Donan. I got to see my castle, my family heritage. I learned so much on that trip and I have still never got quite enough of it. I tried learning the pipes, and the drums, and the dance, but sadly I have no rhythm or ear for music. I do consider myself a poet and a writer, which seems to be a family trait. With help from the Family historians in Florida, I have traced my line all the way back to John MacRae, who later changed his name to John Ray, before the American Civil War. I am a direct descendant of him through eldest sons, although there are times in his life particularly during the time he changed his name and left Virginia with his wife and two sons. I want to know more, as I'm sure others in our clan have done, I hold a special claim on Eilean Donan, it has been in my heart before I even knew what it was and how it was connected to me. I am proud to call myself a MacRae, I am proud to have this bloodline, and I am honoured to walk the stones of the Castle. With hope I'll be returning to that Castle many times in my life. I do not know how closely I'm related to Duncan who fired the Arrow, but I have seen his bust and his portrait and there are many features that i share, and the portrait of him as a youth with the pipes that hangs in one of the rooms, is the spitting image of my younger brother. i would appreciate any and all contact from my family, and my relatives.
