	Does anyone know anything about a small MacRae museum around Carsphairn in Dumfries and Galloway? Query posted by : Fraser McRae	0	24 Jul 2003 at 15.28

	There is a cemetary on the A87 to Skye (or just inside Skye). It has a monument to a young man, Kevin Stoddart, as well as being home to many Macrae gravesites. What town is it located in or near? Query posted by : Sandra Parrish	1	4 Nov 2003 at 22.42

	I have recently become aware of the old stone church at Dornie, not far from Eilean Donan Castle, that is now a William MacRae Memorial site. Can anyone tell me anything about this particular William MacRae? I am especially interested in when he lived, as I descend from a William Rea or MacRae who was born in Kintail in 1680 and raised in County Down, Northern Ireland. 	Since Sherrifmuir is a current hot topic, I am wondering if there is a list of known participants in the fighting and other details about these men such as age, family, where they mustered from, home, etc.??? 	I was looking around this web site for an up coming trip to Scotland. I saw reference to a place called Corriefeol in Wester Ross. There is a picture on this site posted by Kyle Mcallister who states his relative Jessie MacRae lived here in 1814. I was trying to establish if any of my family line were from this area also. If so I would like to visit it. My G,G,G grandfather Farquhar MacRae (b.1801 Married Barbara Mclennan) came to Australia from Scotland in 1837 on "The William Nicol". He was bron in Kintail but not sure where he lived before coming to Australia. His parents were John and Christina MacRae. If any one can help it would be greatly appreciated. 	Hello, I am researching into the sculptor Alex Carrick who worked on the restoration of Eilean Donan. He also carved the celtic cross for the grave of Colonel MacRae Gilstrap. Firstly I would be grateful if anyone could let me know the location of the grave as I would like to photograph it next time I'm in the area. Secondly if anyone has any further information about the specific works carried out by Carrick in the castle I would be very interested to hear from them. The only specific information I have come across is that Carrick managed to carry out work on a lintel stone while home on leave during WWI. Thanks in advance. 	I am researching a PhD on the cultural associations and contemporary interpretation of Scottish battlefields. I am very keen to hear from as many Macraes as possible about battles and battlefields that are significant to them; not just the history, but the folklore, tradition, beliefs that you have about these sites, or have been passed down the family or have heard, or if you have taken part in any commemoration of a battle or its site. What do these sites mean to you today? At present, battlefields can only be protected if there are physical features, so if Scottish battlefields are to be preserved than we need to consider the cultural heritage of a site. 	Does anybody know the location of the great Duncan MacRae's claymore? It was once displayed at the Tower of London as "The great Highlander's sword", and was used to kill at least 7 people at the Battle of Sheriffmuir. Query posted by : Brienne	0	19 May 2007 at 21.01

	On a recent trip I visited Clachan Duich graveyard and found a headstone which could have family connections.It read "Erected by Catherine Macdonald and Flora Macrae now residing in Australia. To the memory of their mother Catherine Maclennan who died in July in 1814 age 36years and of their father Duncan Macdonald who died on 23rd February 1859 aged 89 years and of their stepmother Margaret Macrae who died on 11th July 1864 aged 80years. All died at Letterfearn." As this monument was erected many years later I am wondering if their are any written records or records giving permission to erect it. Hoping someone may have info.
