A copy of a rare MacRae book has been posted on e-Bay in the US.
"The Clan MacRae with its Rolls of Honour and of Service in the Great War" was compiled by Ella MacRae-Gistrap and published by Rosemount Press, Aberdeen in 1924, although the copy for sale is a second edition from 1925.
The book starts with a History of the Clan and of Eilean Donan Castle with excellent illustrations of our Clan Badges and Tartans. It then lists the names of the 423 MacRaes who gave their lives in the Great War, many with photographs and details of their service and their Regiments. It also lists the 3624 Men and Women from our Clan who served in the Great War, including MacRaes from the Commonwealth and from America. More than 50% of MacRae Pipers who served in the War lost their lives.
