As summer proceeds, accompanied by the Hot Humids, a welcome relief to many of us is a cool weekend at 5000ft at Grandfather Mountain for the Gathering there.
As Sunday morning dawned to a perfect temperature, with some cloud cover, our marching team assembled for the Parade of Tartans. Some twenty in all and properly attired, we put together our marching formation. This year, for the first time, four ladies graced our presence, a subtle and welcome change in the rules of judging allowing this to be.
So we set forth once more and to our intense delight, regained the Title of Clan of Excellence from our good friends in Clan Napier.
It never ceases to surprise me that we assemble and, with only fifteen minutes or so of briefing, we can go forth and put on a display, which has now earned us the coveted title five times. Well done to all concerned and my very sincere thanks to all of you and those who support us and cheer us on.
