Sue and Kevin Tregoweth were delighted to represent Clan MacRae at an informal reception at the St Andrews Church Hall, Auckland on Friday 19th November 2004.
The reception was to formally announce the recent appointment by the High Council in Scotland of Donald McDonald Webster as the High Commissioner for Clan Donald New Zealand.
The reception was chaired by Clan Donald President Bruce McGechan and on hand to induct Donald was Chieftain Allan MacDonald of Vallay. There was a large gathering to witness this occasion, including the only official Clan Chief resident in New Zealand, Jock Davidson, Chief of Clan Davidson and his wife Mary.
This appointment recognizes Donalds contribution to the growth of Clan Donald in New Zealand and his innovative plan for an international secretariat. Donald was a founding member of the Clan Donald of Auckland and the Districts Society and has been the backbone of the society, serving his time as President and other positions on the executive.
