A smaller than usual party of MacRaes attended the Inverness Burns Club Annual Dinner at the Lochardil Hotel.
First we had the address to the Haggis. Bill Hamilton, who often is Fear an Tigh at our Ceilidh, piped the haggis in and then gave the address with great gusto and enthusiasm.
After en excellent dinner of cock-a-leekie soup, the Haggis with neeps and tatties, and raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake, we were able to sit back and relax.
Dinner was followed by Fergus Ewing, our MSP, who gave a very interesting talk on the Immortal Memory of Robert Burns, and told us quite a lot of little know facts about BurnsÂ’ life.
Then we had a very amusing Toast to the Lassies by the Rev. Douglas Clyne who had us all rocking with laughter. We ended us with singing several songs written by Burns. We all agreed it was a very entertaining and interesting evening.
