On October 27th 2007, we had a very enjoyable Ceilidh at the Beaufort Hotel in Inverness and were lucky to have several MacRaes among the artists.
Uistean MacRae from Dingwall made an excellent Fear an Tigh and kept the Ceilidh going through the evening.
Our Vice President Dr. Malcolm MacRae played several times on the pipes as did his brother, Farquhar MacRae, who came over from the west with his family.
We were delighted to welcome Jean MacKay fresh from winning the Gold Medal at the Mod. She sang several beautiful songs with her lovely voice. Myra Macnab sang some rousing songs and had us all singing the chorus. Andrew Mackintosh also entertained us with his songs.
Isobel MacRae, the daughter of Farquhar MacRae, although not feeling very well, danced for us. We have a varied and enjoyable programme.
This year there were quite a few young ones present who danced with great enthusiasm to Peems music. Hlafway through the evening we had an excellent buffet with a raffle.
All in all we had a most enjoyable and happy evening.
The 2008 Ceilidh will be held on Saturday 25th October. See the Events page for more information.
