PEOPLE: JOSEPH MCRAE (II)
Joseph McRae was proprietor at the Rotomahana Hotel at the time of the Tarawera Volcano eruption in 1886, and featured prominently in the news.

He had six daughters and was respected by the Maori people of the area.
